Recipes for Art Supplies

1 tbsp cornflour

4-6 pumps baby shampoo

2-3 drops food colouring (use natural)

1-2 tsp water

Mix well.

Mix:

1 cup plain flour

1/4 cup salt

2 tbsp oil

1 tbsp cream of tartar

1 packet jelly

Pour over 1 cup boiling water and mix with a spoon. Knead like roti (chapatti) until dough has formed. Let cool. Store in a zip-lock bag or air-tight container.

Alternatively, you can cook over low heat on the stove using a whisk to mix, for 5-7 mins. Then take out and knead.

Mix:

2 cups plain flour

1 cup salt

2 tsp cream of tartar

2 tbsp oil

A few drops natural food colouring

Pour over 2 cups of water and mix. Cook over low heat, stirring continuously for 5 mins. Knead until cool.

Mix:

1 cup plain flour

½ cup fine salt

Slightly warm water

Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth.

Make shapes. Microwave on a paper towel in 10 second bursts, checking regularly until it dries.

Remove, allow to cool and then paint. Alternatively, use food colouring when forming dough removing the need to paint.
